• By working through the DMT® system of progressively finer grits, you will quickly achieve a razor sharp edge on quality knives and tools. The DMT® diamond products are color-coded for identification. In the product section, colored dots to the right of the product description will denote the specific grits in which the specific model is available.

INSTRUCTIONS:

• Establish same angle as knife bevel with whetstone. 20° for most knives.
  
• Stroke away from the body, alternating on each side of the knife with equal number of strokes on each side.
  
• TIP: Lighter strokes will produce a finer edge. Never test edge on body. Use water only for lubrication.

Suggested DMT® Sharpeners

INSTRUCTIONS:

• Align sharpener flush with the bright bevel.
  
• Stroke smoothly towards the outside of the scissors. Repeat on the other half.
  
• TIP: Small burr on each sliding surface can be wiped off with a single, light stroke on the flat back of the scissor.

Suggested DMT® Sharpener

INSTRUCTIONS:

• Match diameter of cone to the size of the serration or gut hook.
• Use a few short, light, back and forth strokes on each serration... similar to light toothbrush short stroke.

TIP:
Wipe small burr off opposite side of edge with one smooth, light flat stroke.

INSTRUCTIONS:

• Always sharpen the flat side, never the profile. Use water only.
  
• Using fine grit (25 micron), glide the bit with light pressure along the stone. To maintain balance repeat the same number of strokes on other wing. Usually only 5-10 strokes.
  
• TIP:
  Sharpen bits on a DMT® sharpener to save time, money and extend tool life.

Suggested DMT® Sharpeners

INSTRUCTIONS:

• On new or damaged chisels, flatten the back first, using Extra Coarse to finer grits. This step is not required for routine sharpening.
  
• Cradle tools in your fingers or use a jig to keep bevel flat on stone. Use water only for lubrication.
  
• TIP:
  Finish with one light, flat stroke on back of chisel using fine or extra-fine grit.

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Place sharpener with the upright single bevel level.
   
2. Stroke gently to sharpen along the curve of the blade, towards the outside of the tool.
   

TIP:
Clean, easy test cuts on a branch or plant confirm sharpness.

Suggested DMT® Sharpener

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Remove blade from saw.
2. Keep diamond surface flat to the inner face of saw tooth.
   
3. Use the same number of light, smooth, back and forth strokes on each tooth.
   

TIP: Mark the first tooth sharpened with chalk to avoid dressing twice.

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Wear protective gloves
2. Push broadhead AWAY from yourself
3. Do not sharpen chipped or broken blades

Blades should be sharpened while still attached to arrow shaft. Using light pressure and steady strokes, push the arrow shaft away from you taking care that the broadhead blades contact the stones evenly.

Use water for lubricant.
